DALLAS – 09/10/2018 – Cooper & Scully is pleased to announce the launch of its Austin office, signaling the depth of commitment to clients and to Texas. Joining the firm as Managing Shareholder is prominent trial attorney, Kevin Oncken.

Kevin Oncken has been in practice for 31 years. He joins Cooper & Scully after concluding 20 years as a founding shareholder of Uzick & Oncken PC. Kevin has extensive trial experience with more than 100 jury trial verdicts as lead counsel across Texas. He has been honored by numerous organizations over the years. His practice focuses primarily on defending health care liability cases but he has also successfully represented plaintiffs in non-medical malpractice catastrophic injury cases was well as commercial cases. In addition, Kevin is a credentialed mediator with the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association and often serves in that capacity.
Lanette Matthews has been in practice for 25 years and rejoins Cooper & Scully as a shareholder after serving as Vice-President of Claims and Litigation Management for a national medical professional liability carrier, overseeing litigation throughout the country. Her litigation practice primarily focuses on defending healthcare providers throughout Texas.
John Langley has been in practice for 28 years and joins Cooper & Scully after having practiced in Corpus Christi for 20 years, and more recently with the Texas Attorney General and the Texas Medical Board. He is a trial attorney with a focus on medical liability, licensure, and disciplinary defense for physicians and other practitioners.
John Faubion has been in practice for 4 years with Cooper & Scully. He has gained significant trial experience, obtaining a 2017 Texas Top Verdict (by Verdict Search and ALM), and in defending catastrophic injury and commercial cases to verdict with shareholder John Scully. His practice focuses on business and commercial torts, employment disputes, personal injury, and professional liability.
